It has three Media Module slots that host a combination of interface boards to support T1/E1, ISDN-BRI, digital or analog telephones and analog trunks. The first Media Module slot can also host an S8300 Server to provide integrated IP Telephony for standalone businesses or mission-critical survivability for branch office-deployed G430s.
1600 Series IP Deskphones

Deliver basic communications features at an attractive price point. These phones are ideal for enterprises and call centers alike, and can be deployed alongside other Avaya phones.
The 1600 Series IP Deskphones combine the features of traditional and IP deskphones, delivering capabilities often found in higher-priced devices. For employees accustomed to traditional digital telephones, these models offer a familiar user interface—including context-sensitive displays and fixed keys for conference, transfer, and hold. This improves productivity and eases the upgrade process. All models feature backlit displays, high-quality full-duplex speakerphones, and buttons with dual LEDs (red and green) that give users easy-to-read status information. The phones support multiple call appearances, and can support from three to 16 line appearance/feature keys and display up to four lines.

Avaya SMLT Switching Cluster Technology
Split Multi Link Trunking (SMLT) is an option that improves Layer 2(bridged) resiliency by providing for the addition of switch failure redundancy with sub-second failover. On top of all MLT link failure protection and flexible bandwidth scaling functionailty, SMLT allows you to connect to two distinct separate SMLT endpoints or switches.
